Choir scores need A4. A lead sheet book is lighter in A5.
Page turns and index
Start every two-page piece on a left-hand (even) page, so nobody turns mid-song. Add a blank page or a short piece where needed. In longer works, put the turn at a rest or the end of a verse.
Add an index with page numbers at the front or on the last page. Leave a wide margin on the spiral side so the holes miss the first notes.
Choir books
An A4 spiral book holds up to 160 pages, about 60 to 80 two-page pieces. Order one per singer plus a few spares, up to 50 per order. Test one copy at a rehearsal first. See A4 book printing for the format.
For a large-print copy, order your A5 PDF as A4: it's scaled up by about 41%. Keep text well away from the edges, since the 3 mm bleed doesn't scale along.
Order of service for a funeral or wedding
A stapled booklet in A5 landscape fits a hymn in two columns per page. Booklets start at 24 pages. Checkout shows the delivery date. See also making a memorial book.
